SRV Records in Shared Hosting
The Hepsia CP, bundled with each and every shared hosting that we offer, gives you an easy means to set up any DNS record that you need for a domain name or a subdomain within your account. The easy-to-use interface is much more simple than what other companies provide and you won’t have to do anything more than to fill just a few boxes. For a new SRV record, you will need to log in, visit the DNS Records section and then click the "New" button. In the small pop-up that will appear, you have to enter the service, protocol and port info. You could also set the priority and weight values, which should be between 1 and 100, which will make a difference if you have no less than 2 servers dealing with the very same service. If you work with a machine from a different provider, they might also require you to set a TTL value different from the standard 3600 seconds. This value defines how long the newly created record is going to remain functional after you edit it in the future.
SRV Records in Semi-dedicated Hosting
Since we recognize how frustrating it can be to deal with DNS records, we'll give you an easy-to-use DNS management tool as a part of our custom-made Hepsia CP, so when you host your domains inside a semi-dedicated server account from our company, you're going to be able to create an SRV record with no difficulties. We have a step-by-step guide, that'll make things much easier. Using a user-friendly interface, you'll need to type in the info that the other company has provided you with - protocol, port number and service. Unless they've given you specific directions to change the priority and / or the weight values, you can leave those two options as they are and your new record will go live in a couple of minutes. The Time To Live option (TTL) can also be set to a custom value, but typically the standard value of 3600 seconds is used for most records. This value shows the time the record will keep existing after it's modified or deleted.
